Foam Roof Repair

Roof Preparation: (Foam Roof Repair)

First, the surface of the roof is ready for installation of the roof foam. Foam roofing systems are not based on the old roof membranes for waterproofing. If necessary, the old roof membranes are torn. However, after careful preparation, the membranes of the existing roof usually serve as excellent substrates for a new roof foam. Reuse the old roof membrane as a substrate to help the environment by reducing landfill waste.

Foam Roof Installation Phase 1

The tar and gravel roof is ready for Step 1, preparation of the roof.

Foam Roofing Systems are ideal for re-roofing Tar & Gravel

The roof tar and gravel on top is a good candidate for a roofing system foam. Before the foam roof system is used more measures are taken, including the following:

Earth and gravel are extracted and transported to a recycling plant.
Decking was examined for fungal damage, structural repairs.
Deteriorated flashing and caps are replaced.
Substrate is fixed to the roof slab. A new substrate, such as heavy tar paper, has been installed on existing roof membranes are not reused.

This is the first step for installation of Foam Roof. In our next post we will show you the remaining steps to complete your roofing installation.
